All Newport Orchestra students interested in serving on Orchestra Council must submit their applications by this date.

All Orchestras – Orchestra Council Interviews
Orchestra Council interviews will be scheduled to take place in the orchestra room after school during this week.
October 9–11 – Lazy F Ranch, All Day
Orchestra Retreat – Sinfonia & Chamber Orchestra
Newport Sinfonia and Chamber Orchestra students will travel to Lazy F Ranch in Ellensburg for the annual Orchestra Retreat. Students will spend the weekend rehearsing, participating in clinics with college professors, and connecting with their peers on an overnight field trip.

Members of Concert Orchestra will combine for a dress rehearsal after school to prepare for the Fall Concert.

Members of Sinfonia will combine together for a dress rehearsal after school to prepare for the Fall Concert that evening.

All Orchestras – Fall Orchestra Concert
Join us for the Fall Orchestra Concert at Newport High School Performing Arts Center. This concert will feature Tyee Advanced Orchestra in a combined performance with Newport Chamber Orchestra, and will also include performances by Newport Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia, and Concert Orchestra.
Friday, October 23 – Pacific Lutheran University, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Concert Orchestra – PLU Orchestra Festival
All members of Concert Orchestra will travel to Pacific Lutheran University on a field trip during the school day to perform at the PLU Orchestra Festival.
November 2–6 – Newport Orchestra Room, 3:00 – 5:00 PM
All Orchestras – All-State Audition Recordings
All Newport Orchestra students will have the optional opportunity to audition for All-State Orchestra. Audition recordings will take place after school in the orchestra room between 3:30 and 5:00. Audition times must be reserved by signing up on the All-State Orchestra Audition Signup Genius.

All Newport Orchestra students will assist with setup for Knights in Vienna, the program’s annual Viennese-style waltz night.

All Newport Orchestra students will perform at Knights in Vienna, featuring live music performed by Newport’s orchestras and instruction from a professional dance instructor.

Join us for the Winter Orchestra Concert at Newport High School Performing Arts Center. This concert will feature Tillicum Advanced Orchestra in a combined performance with Newport Chamber Orchestra, and will also include performances by Newport Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia, and Concert Orchestra.

All Newport Orchestra students can sign up to perform a solo or in a small ensemble for this optional event held at Mt. Si High School.

Members of Chamber Orchestra will participate in the University of Washington Orchestra Festival, performing in Meany Hall and participating in clinics with college professors.

All Newport Orchestra students will perform in a special Farewell Concert honoring graduating seniors. The program will feature solos and concerto performances by senior musicians, special awards, and a senior video highlighting memorable moments in orchestra.

Students, join us for our annual orchestra picnic at Lake Boren Park! This is a fun, relaxed gathering with food, games, and the presentation of orchestra awards including Most Improved Player, Most Valuable Player, and Most Inspirational Player.
