Chamber Orchestra’s trip to Louisville, Kentucky, for the ASTA National Orchestra Festival in March of 2024. Some of the highlights of the trip were a tour of Churchill Downs, an orchestra clinic with the Concertmaster of the Louisville Orchestra Gabe Lefkowitz, a visit to Farmington Plantation, and a special performance by the Sphinx Virtuosi.

Knights in Vienna is our annual fundraiser that features a night of dancing to waltz music performed by the Newport Philharmonic. This year KIV was held on Saturday, February 3rd, and we welcomed Dean Paton to join us as our dance instructor.

Newport Orchestra had an amazing 4 out of 6 total small ensembles selected to perform in the playoffs of the Eastshore Solo and Ensemble Contest at Si High School on January 27, 2024. Newport finished the day taking 1st and 3rd place in the Small String Ensemble Category.

Hansel and Gretel

Newport High School Orchestra and Evergreen City Ballet present a brand-new production of the beloved fairy tale, Hansel & Gretel. The unique collaboration between Newport High School Orchestra and the Evergreen City Ballet provides young musicians and dancers with the experience of working together on a live show, resulting in a wonderfully artistic production that’s sure to enchant audiences of all ages. This performance was presented at Newport PAC at 7:00pm on Saturday, May 13th, 2023.
